JP Worsfold arrives in Newcastle for the opening night of a three-concert November run — voice, guitar, songs and stories in a room close enough to hear the music breathe. About the artist
JP Worsfold is an independent singer-songwriter with three albums behind him and a decade spent writing, performing and putting on events throughout the north of England.
Two songs from his album Wild Returning have featured in BBC television drama productions. He has performed a session for BBC Radio Lancashire, received praise from celebrated author Robert Macfarlane, and shared stages with The Unthanks, Niall John Smith, Frankie Archer and Adam Holmes.
His work draws from lived experience — love, loss, grief, recovery, change, and the slow process of finding your way through. Three records in, the artistic direction is moving towards simplicity. Less between the listener and the song. Less production. Less noise. More meaning.
