After three albums and more than a decade spent writing, performing and creating events throughout Cumbria, JP Worsfold returns to Penrith for the final night of his November run. This is the homecoming. Not sentimental. Not overblown. Earned. Voice, guitar, songs and stories in a room that carries the weight of everything that came before. The performances move between stillness and release — quiet moments that hold their ground, and larger passages that have been ten years in the making.
About the artist
JP Worsfold is an independent singer-songwriter with three albums behind him and a decade spent writing, performing and putting on events throughout the north of England.
Two songs from his album Wild Returning have featured in BBC television drama productions. He has performed a session for BBC Radio Lancashire, received praise from celebrated author Robert Macfarlane, and shared stages with The Unthanks, Niall John Smith, Frankie Archer and Adam Holmes.
His work draws from lived experience — love, loss, grief, recovery, change, and the slow process of finding your way through. Three records in, the artistic direction is moving towards simplicity. Less between the listener and the song. Less production. Less noise. More meaning.
